In the past weeks, Obama has been called a socialist because of his tax plans which would benefit the middle class. McCain, however, in the second debate, mentioned that he wanted the government to buy up bad mortgages, which is far closer to socialism than anything Obama has said. Why are the people railing on Obama not railing on McCain for his plans?

The Republicans don’t use such words on their own.
They are also apparently unaware that it is virtually impossible to buy up bad mortgages when they have been repackaged and sold off a dozen times.

Because the Republicans are desperate now that McCain is so far behind in the polls. Obama has always taken the higher ground and not resorted to name calling and smear tactics. Name calling is all they have left since McCain has nothing to stand on except 8 years of Bush legacy.

I’m a McCain supporter and I have said repeatedly outloud that I hate that plan. But do you really expect me to change to Obama because of that?? Single-issue voting is stupid. Besides McCain wants the government to give homeowners the chance to stay in their homes by paying bills they can afford, Obama wants to just give homeowners free cash. These are two completely different things.

What he is calling for would be considered a socialist-type move by most. He’s not even close to the far left liberalism that Obama represents.

Obama wants government to solve people’s problems. McCain wants government to get out of the way so that people can solve their own problems. We’ve had enough big government. Social security is a disaster. Medicare is a disaster. And now Obama wants to centralize health care. Oh, but people will not be forced to change their plans, right? But who is going to pay for the people that don’t have insurance now and will have it under his plan.

The taxpayers will pay for it. It’s not all doom and gloom like Obama wants to make it seem, but it will be if we grow our government.

because they gov’t is the one who screwed everything up in the first place so they should fix it. Oh and his tax plan is basically stealing money from people who worked their ass off for it and giving it to people who dont deserve it in the first place. What will be the purpose in working hard anymore?? Do you know how many bums we will have??? Lazy people?? That will ruin the economy. High taxes never fixed anything.
